Today we are excited to officially announce that we have gained reaffirmation of our accreditation from the Higher Learning Commission (HLC). With the recommendation to continue on the “standard pathway” for the next 10 years, HLC has recognized the hard work of this University asserting that all criteria have been met and that UA satisfies all core components.
Following are some of the accolades offered by the reviewers within the final report.
- The University has made great strides in the last couple of years with shared governance. This was continuously verified during the team visit with the faculty and staff.
- Academic rigor is ensured through course and curriculum review processes, as well as through student performance assessment. While the culture of assessment at the institution is somewhat young, it is clearly authentic and considered. All faculty engage in the assessment process, which helps to guarantee that all students experience an appropriate level of rigor.
- The current leadership team demonstrates knowledge of the issues and has implemented processes that will best prepare them to succeed in the future.
- Considered broadly and deeply, the University offers a quality education to all students at all levels and in all locations.
I want to, again, express my gratitude to all who participated in the campus visits last fall and everyone who worked so diligently to ensure this positive outcome.
We look forward to focusing on the core criteria in preparation for the 2032-2033 visit.
Sincerely,
Gary L. Miller
