Biography

Dr. Kwon joined UA's Department of Mechanical Engineering in Fall 2021. His academic and professional backgrounds have been developed in the areas of Applied Mechanics and Structural Design, Materials and Manufacturing. Prior to joining UA, he had teaching careers at universities in the United States and South Korea. In addition to his experience in academia, he worked in industrial fields with a broad range of engineering projects on product design, optimization, analysis, and testing for structural integrity and failure prevention in mechanical and vehicular systems. He passed the FE and PE exams for the EIT and Professional Engineer certifications. Dr. Kwon has published more than 40 peer-reviewed journal and conference articles and has earned more than 10 patents as an inventor.
