Dr. Jae-Won Choi
In 2011, Dr. Choi joined UA’s Department of Mechanical Engineering. Prior to joining UA, he spent one year for his postdoctoral research in the W.M. Keck Center for 3D Innovation at the University of Texas at El Paso sponsored by the Overseas Postdoctoral Fellowship from the Korea Research Foundations. Dr. Choi specializes in additive manufacturing research and has developed various processes such as conformal 3D printing, liquid-bridge microstereolithography, and direct-print photopolymerization. He is the co-founder and CTO of eSens and he is the director of the Advanced Additive Manufacturing Lab at UA. Dr. Choi is the recipient of more than $1.5 million research grants and is an associate editor of Additive Manufacturing, and editorial member of the International Journal of Precision Engineering and Manufacturing (IJPEM) and IJPEM-Green Technology. He has more than 54 peer-reviewed journal articles and three registered patents.
