Finance Student Wins Award in American Statistics Association Contest

Sabrina Grolimund, a senior majoring in corporate financial management in The University of Akron’s College of Business Administration, has received an honorable mention in the global American Statistical Association Undergraduate Statistics Class Project Competition. She was one of the presenters in the first Electronic Undergraduate Statistics Research Conference Oct. 2.

Grolimund was recognized for her project on sunspots — "Here Comes the Sun...But It's Not Alright!” Her faculty sponsors were Douglas Kahl, Ph.D., professor of finance and international business, and Lillian Prince in the Department of Management. Her e-poster can be viewed online.

An international student from Switzerland, Grolimund is due to graduate in May 2016.
