Service-learning project benefits Crown Point Ecology Center

04/12/2011

Geography and Planning Graduate Students Queenie Yan and Michelle Davis are making navigating the Crown Point Ecology Center a more colorful experience.

Through a service-learning project, led by visiting assistant professor Shanon Donnelly, Yan and Davis were able to create a colorful and user-friendly map for the 130 acre center. The map of the Self Guided Walking Tour will be used by vistors of the organic farm, woodlands and wetland ecosystem. In addition to gaining real-world experience and receiving college credit, the students provided the local non-profit with a much needed resource.
