06/25/2010
This is an extremely challenging position and rare honor that will prepare her for success in a top notch doctoral program

Laran Hyder accepted a clinical research assistant position in the Department of Psychiatry at Massachusetts General Hospital. She will be working with several leading researchers in the areas of clinical psychology and psychiatry, in both the Pediatric Psychopharmacology & Adult ADHD and the Neuroimaging Programs. Laran will be involved with several different grant-funded projects, including investigations of adult ADHD and autism spectrum disorders.

In addition to Laran, we want to recognize the achievements of others in the 2009-10 Psychology Department's graduating class, who have will be starting graduate work this fall in clinical psychology, counseling psychology, and neuroscience at the University of Arkansas, Eastern Michigan University, Florida State University, and The University of Akron.  Samantha Gregas, for instance, received a highly competitive four-year full fellowship with additional travel and research funding from Arkansas.  Further, Torie Gray, a student in the Pscyhology Honors Program, spent this past summer at the University of London Berbeck Center for Brain and Cognitive Development.
