Dr. Toshikazu Miyoshi, professor in the School of Polymer Science and Polymer Engineering, has received his fifth consecutive NSF DMR Polymers Award. The four-year grant, totaling $660,421, will support his research from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2029, advancing the understanding of semicrystalline polymers—materials found in everyday items like grocery bags and high-performance fibers.

"I am honored to receive this NSF award as it highlights the importance of understanding semicrystalline polymers at the molecular level," said Miyoshi. "This research will help us unlock new possibilities for stronger, more efficient materials. I am excited to continue this work and contribute to advancements that could shape the future of polymer science."

This grant underscores the University of Akron's commitment to cutting-edge research in polymer science and its impact on material innovation.
