Dr. Roderic Quirk receives Charles Goodyear Medal at ACS Rubber Division Awards Banquet

On May 1, Dr. Roderic Quirka polymer science research professor and distinguished professor emeritus in the College of Polymer Science and Polymer Engineering, was awarded the Charles Goodyear Medal at the ACS Rubber Division Science & Technology Awards Banquet in Independence, Ohio.

The highest honor from the American Chemical Society’s Rubber Division, the 2019 Charles Goodyear Medal honors “individuals for outstanding invention, innovation, or development, which has resulted in a significant change or contribution to the nature of the rubber industry.” 

In addition to the ACS ceremony and banquet, a reception was held at the Goodyear Polymer Center where faculty, colleagues, friends, family, and former students gathered to celebrate Dr. Quirk's outstanding career and achievements.
