Dr. Anil Patnaik to serve as Interim Chair of the Department of Civil Engineering
The College of Engineering and Polymer Science is pleased to announce that Dr. Anil Patnaik will be serving as the Interim Chair of the Department of Civil Engineering starting on June 30, 2022. Until that time, Dr. Patnaik will work with Dr. Wieslaw Binienda on managing the department. Dr. Binienda has graciously agreed to assist Dr. Patnaik until June 30, 2022.
Dr. Patnaik has been with the College since 2007 and has focused much of his teaching and research efforts on structural engineering. His academic experience spans over 20 years with prior faculty positions at South Dakota School of Mines and Technology and universities in Australia. He also worked as a practicing engineer in the design and construction of tall buildings, and large industrial, commercial, and offshore structures.
In welcoming Dr. Patnaik to his new position, the College would like to thank Dr. Binienda, who has served as the Department Chair for the past 20 years. Dr. Binienda will continue in his role as a Professor in the Civil Engineering Department. The College is grateful to Dr. Binienda for his service and dedication to the College.
