CPSPE Welcomes Rheology & Thermal Instrumentation Scientist

05/03/2019

hashemnejad-050219Dr. Meysam Hashemnejad is joining the College of Polymer Science and Polymer Engineering as the Instrumentation Scientist – Rheology & Thermal.

He received his Ph.D. in chemical engineering from Mississippi State University (MSU) in 2017. The primary objective of his doctoral studies was investigating the rheological properties of various soft materials to better understand the cavitation phenomenon, fracture, and other large-strain deformation of swollen gels. The systems of his research experience include polysaccharide networks, thermoreversible self-assembled synthetic polymer gels and molecular gels.

Following his doctoral studies, he started his postdoctoral associate position in the chemical engineering department at MIT under the guidance of Professor Pat Doyle. The project involved research on self-assembling nanoemulsion formed through low energy process. In particular, he has been exploring new routes to thermally gel these formulations and characterize the formed structures.

Please join us in welcoming Meysam to our college!
