Honors Sections
Honors sections are available for many course offerings at UA, and are structured to deliver course material to the advanced student. That might mean that the course moves more quickly and covers more material; that it goes more in depth into the material and moves a bit slower; or that it expects more output. There are many advantages to taking Honors sections. They provide academic rigor; meaningful connections with faculty across disciplines; and a more in-depth understanding of the subject area.
As a reminder:
- In addition to the Honors sections listed below, any course be converted into a Honors section for individual students with an approved Honors Credit by Contract.
- Students registering for courses should select an honors section when available, provided that the honors section does not conflict with another required class.

Analytical Geom-Calculus I The Department of Mathematics is not offering an honors section of Calculus I in the spring, but you can still get an honors attribute for this class via Honors Credit by Contract. All students signing such a contract will work on the same project that will be in addition to their coursework, regardless of which section of Calculus I they are taking. Dr. Linda Saliga, Chair of Math, will be coordinating Honors Credit by Contract for Calculus I students. Please email her if you are interested. |
