Welcome to the Department of Marketing at College of Business, The University of Akron. Our department boasts 15 tenure-track and non-tenure track faculty members who teach and engage in research across diverse areas such as consumer behavior, marketing strategy, digital marketing, international business, marketing analytics, CRM, brand management, and sales management. We also have a number of adjunct faculty members who bring specialized expertise in areas such as artificial intelligence, foreign market entry, and creative writing.

Our faculty members regularly publish their research in highly-ranked academic journals, bring years of practical real-world experience into the classroom, and receive prestigious recognitions at both the local and national levels. This high level of expertise ensures that we offer superior instruction at both undergraduate and graduate levels, enriched with experiential learning and direct business applications.

At the heart of our department is our commitment to providing exceptional undergraduate and graduate education. We offer three distinct majors: Marketing Management, Sales Management, and International Business. Additionally, we provide a range of minors and certificates at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, designed to complement and enhance students' academic and professional journeys.

Our dedication to experiential learning and real-world business experience is paramount. Through robust partnerships with leading companies and strong ties within the community and state, we offer an educational experience that is unmatched. We take great pride in our state-of-the-art facilities, including the Taylor Institute for Direct Marketing, the Suarez Applied Research Labs, and the Fisher Institute for Professional Selling. These centers and institutes are foundational to our hands-on learning approach, equipped with the latest technology and resources to prepare our students to excel in the dynamic field of marketing. Our Marketing Advisory Board, comprising department and College of Business alumni, offers mentorship, sponsors scholarships, and supports our students' educational and professional journeys.
