Chapter Bio: In 2004, Alpha Sigma Phi established an interest group on the University of Akron's Campus. By December 6 of the same year, the interest group became an official colony of Alpha Sigma Phi. A little more than two years later on February 3, 2007, the colony became a fully chartered Chapter of Alpha Sigma Phi given the designation Epsilon Sigma and initiated 36 members into the Mystic Circle. Since then, the membership roster of the Chapter has grown to over 100 men. The Chapter has received numerous citations and awards of excellence and is constantly striving to live up to the vision, purpose, and values of Alpha Sigma Phi. During the Fall Semester of 2015 the Epsilon Sigma Chapter of Alpha Sigma Phi restarted due to weak presence on campus. In that first year, they we're able to find 24 new members with the hope to become a top organization on campus. Since 2015, the Chapter has experienced tremendous growth and development. The Chapter is focused on, now more than ever, their commitment to serving the community and each other. They continue to make their presence known throughout the community at The University of Akron. In the Spring Semester of 2021, the chapter established their first official chapter house on campus at 269 Spicer Street in the heart of Greek row. As the youngest chapter on campus, this is an impressive feat that our chapter accomplished so early on in our local history, led by then-president Ryan DeBoer, the group worked with their national organization and local authority to make this dream a reality to become a better established organization on campus. Alpha Sigma Phi continues to make their presence known on campus as the extra curricular organization of choice for undergraduate men to aspiring individuals looking to improve themselves professionally, academically, and socially for the ever-changing world that await college graduates.
