UA to host seminars on U.S. Department of Labor compliance information

11/12/2009

Two U.S. Department of Labor seminars — one on the Davis Bacon Act and the other on the Service Contract Act — are being sponsored by The University of Akron on Nov. 20. Each seminar costs $35.

Both programs will offer wage and hour compliance information for contractors and subcontractors who provide construction or other services to governmental agencies. A question-and-answer period is included with the topics of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, the Contract Work Hours and Safety Standards Act, and how the Fair Labor Standards Act interacts with these laws.  The Human Resource Certification Institute has approved each seminar for 3.75 recertification credit hours.
