FirstMerit Corp. is honoring the national champion Zips men’s soccer team by displaying the word ZIPS on the east side of the FirstMerit Tower in downtown Akron. The display will be visible overnight now through Wednesday, Dec. 22.
Each of the letters Z, I and P are 70 feet or five floors high. The letter S is 84 feet or six floors high.
The tower is at 106 S. Main St.
