Tickets for Cirque Dreams Jungle Fantasy' on Sale

Tickets to Cirque Dreams Jungle Fantasy are on sale at all Ticketmaster locations, E.J. Thomas Performing Arts Hall at The University of Akron and Akron Civic Theatre box offices. A blend of circus with European flair, imaginative theatrics and world-class acrobatics, the production will be at E.J. Thomas March 9 and 10 for three performances.

RENT' Tickets on Sale Feb. 5

Tickets for RENT, the Tony Award- and Pulitzer Prize-winning Broadway musical, will go on sale Monday, Feb. 5 at The University of Akron's E.J. Thomas Performing Arts Hall.

Illustrated Lecture on China Trip

University of Akron Distinguished Professor of Art Mark Soppeland and Barbara Tannenbaum, chief curator and head of public programs at the Akron Art Museum, will present an illustrated lecture of their recent experience in China on Wednesday, Feb. 7 at 6 p.m. in the Folk Hall Auditorium.

The husband-wife team joined a panel of 36 international curators, publishers and artists in Beijing last October to review the works of 278 Chinese photographers.

Neil Shubin of the Department of Organismal Biology and Anatomy at The University of Chicago will present "Discovering a Link Between Fish and Land-Living Animals" at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 8 in the Auburn Science and Engineering Center Room 120 at The University of Akron.

Emotional Labor Seminar

Rebecca Erickson, professor of sociology at The University of Akron, will present the seminar, The Context of Care: Reconsidering Culture, Structure and the Performance of Emotional Labor from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 9 in Olin Hall Room 276.

Learn How to Make an Alcohol Stove

The University of Akron's Wellness and Recreation Center will hold an alcohol stove-making seminar on Thursday, Feb. 15. All materials will be provided for this hands-on event.

Randy Newman to Perform at E.J. Thomas Hall

Singer-songwriter Randy Newman will join The University of Akron's Symphonic Band and Orchestra for a matinee of Hollywood favorites at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 18 at E.J. Thomas Performing Arts Hall.

Tickets are $10 for general admission, $8 for seniors and children 12 and under and $5 for UA students, faculty, staff and retirees.
