New leader named in the Department of Biomedical Engineering

Dr. Hossein Tavana, Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, was recently named Interim Chair.

The College of Engineering and Polymer Science is pleased to announce that Dr. Hossein Tavana will be serving as Interim Chair of the Department of Biomedical Engineering. His appointment is effective July 1, 2021 and will last for a two-year term.

Dr. Tavana has been with the College since 2010 and has focused much of his research on developing tissue engineering microtechnologies to study cancer and stem cells. 

In welcoming Dr. Tavana to his new position, the College would like to thank Dr. Francis Loth, who served the Department for the past year. The College is grateful to Dr. Loth and his service to the College.
