EEO - Make a Complaint
The University of Akron is committed to a policy of equal employment opportunity and to the principles of affirmative action in accordance with state and federal laws. This commitment is to ensure the prompt and full utilization of protected classes by ensuring equal opportunity in employment opportunities with regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, handicap/disability, gender identity and veteran status.
Complaints against faculty, staff, and/or visitors are handled by the Equal Employment Opportunity & Affirmative Action Office. If you believe that you have been treated differently because of your membership in one of the protected groups, you may file a formal complaint.
It is considered a violation of University policy for any act of retaliation to be taken against an individual because the individual has filed a good faith complaint.
The EEO's Complaint Process can be reviewed here. Please review the Policy on Sexual Harassment or Title IX at UA on how to file a complaint, then use this form to file a complaint. Complaints can also be made in person at the EEO Office - Administrative Services Building Room 138 or submitted to EEOCompliance@uakron.edu. Feel free to contact the EEO Office if you have any questions or would like to talk through a situation.
