Knowledge is central to everything we do in the College of Engineering and Polymer Science and The University of Akron. Our core missions are creating knowledge (research) and disseminating knowledge (education), and we want you to be part of both our missions.

Recently redefined research focus areas work towards solving global challenges as well as addressing national and regional priorities. Most projects engage faculty and students (graduate and undergraduate) in multidisciplinary teams that cross departmental, college and university boundaries. We partner with many federal/state agencies and companies to provide practical knowledge and real-world experience to our student researchers.

There are many pathways to graduate school, and undergraduate research exposure is certainly one of them. Graduate school opens up additional opportunities for career advancement, higher salaries and making a difference in the world.
