BCAS Scholarship Launches Student Success

student pictureMary Hodge was a student in Political Science who worked on a certificate in conflict management by teaching elementary students to do peer mediation. For these efforts she was recognized as a McNair Scholar, earned a Good Neighbor Award from the City of Akron, and a certificate of appreciation from then Representative Sherrod Brown. Mary was also a recipient of the Center for Conflict Management's Martin Scholarship in recognition of her achievements. After graduation, Mary immediately took a job with Emily's List, later served as the National Youth Director for President Obama's campaign, and is now a respected political consultant.
