Hale Farm After Dark: Collections White Glove

August 18, 2022, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Past Event

The Cummings Center is partnering with Hale Farm & Village and the Western Reserve Historical Society to explore the material lives of 19th and early 20th century soldiers. Join us and handle historic artifacts while experts discuss the daily experiences of soldiers through the ages; and the emotional and psychological effects that may have lingered long after their duty. Just as these soldiers communicated through notes and letters, guests will also have an opportunity to set quill and pen to paper and draft a note (19th century style) to keep or send! Local libations and snacks will be available for purchase.

This is a ticketed event. Tickets can be purchased online in advance.

About the Western Reserve Historical Society

Founded in May 1867, the Western Reserve Historical Society is Cleveland’s oldest existing cultural institution. It was established as the historical branch of the Cleveland Library Association which dated from 1848. The Society’s creation was part of an important trend in the United States, the establishment of private organizations to oversee the collection and preservation of documents and objects relating to various aspects of national, regional and local history. While its original focus was on the history of “…Cleveland and the Western Reserve, and generally what relates to the history of Ohio and the Great West,” it now concentrates on the history of Northeast Ohio.
