New York Times best-selling author Peggy Orenstein will give a talk titled “Girls and Sex: Perils, Pleasures and Possibilities” on Tuesday, April 18, from 7 to 9 p.m., in the Student Union Theatre. 

A book signing and reception will follow. The event, which is free and open to the public, is being presented by the Women’s Studies Program.

Orenstein is the author of several books, including her latest, “Girls and Sex: Navigating the Complicated New Landscape.” Earlier works include “Cinderella Ate My Daughter” and “Waiting for Daisy.” Her work has been featured in a wide variety of publications, such as the New York Times Magazine, Mother Jones, and Slate and The New Yorker. Orenstein has contributed commentaries to National Public Radio’s “All Things Considered.”
