Professional & Academic Experience

Jason Wood is the Director of Corporate Responsibility for JOANN. In this role, he is responsible for building and overseeing JOANN's environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) program, providing strategic and day-to-day operational leadership on key issues including, but not limited to, identifying material climate-related risks and opportunities, leading greenhouse gas assessments, managing climate and ESG-related public reporting and disclosures, and collaborating across the organization to drive impact. Prior to joining JOANN, Jason spent the majority of his career in the public sector, serving most recently as the Chief of Sustainability for the City of Cleveland.

Jason holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Cincinnati where he studied American politics and quantitative methods with a focus on affectively-driven decision making. He also has a Masters of Applied Politics from the University of Akron and a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Economics from Kent State University.

Jason and his wife, Courtney, live in Brecksville with their three young children. He is a member of the Trust for Public Land's Ohio Advisory Board and has served on multiple non-profit boards and participated in numerous professional organizations.
