Biography

Master Sergeant Trent Brown is a native of Hartsville, South Carolina and graduated from McBee High School in 2001.  He enlisted as an Infantryman in the Army on August 23, 2001 and completed One Station Unit Training and Airborne School at Fort Benning, GA.   

MSG Brown has served in every leadership position from team leader to First Sergeant.  His previous assignments include: the 3rd US Infantry (The Old Guard); 1st Battalion, 72nd Armored, Camp Casey, Korea; 2nd Battalion, 1st Infantry, Fort Lewis, Washington; 2nd Battalion, 54th Infantry, Fort Benning, Georgia; 2nd Battalion, 9th Infantry, Camp Casey, Korea; Special Troops Battalion, United States Forces Korea (USFK), Yongsan, Korea; United Nations Command Honor Guard Company, Yongsan, Korea; Joint Multinational Readiness Center (JMRC), Hohenfels, Germany; 1st Battalion, 4th Infantry, Hohenfels, Germany; and the University of Akron Senior Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC), Akron, Ohio. 

MSG Brown is a graduate of all levels of the Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development System for his rank, First Sergeant's Course, Drill Sergeant School, Basic Instructor's Course, Air Assault School, Javelin Gunner's Course, Javelin Instructor's Course, Improvised Explosive Device-Defeat Train the Trainer's Course, Combatives Level 1, Field Sanitation Course, Nuclear Biological and Chemical (NBC) Defense Course, and Airborne School.  He graduated from American Military University with an Associates' of Arts Degree in Counter-Terrorism Studies. 

MSG Brown's awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, the Army Commendation Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters, the Joint Service Achievement Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster, the Army Achievement Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, the Joint Meritorious Unit Award, the Army Superior Unit Award, the Army Good Conduct Medal, Sixth Award, the National Defense Service Medal, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal with two Campaign Stars, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Korean Defense Service Medal, the Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon with Numeral Three, the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon with Numeral Seven, The NATO Medal, the Dutch Cross for the Four Day Marches, the Drill Sergeant Identification Badge, the Combat Infantryman's Badge, the Basic Parachutist's Badge, The Air Assault Badge, and the German Troop Duty Proficiency Badge.  He is a member of the Order of Saint Maurice.
