Biography

                CPT Jeff Cook was born and raised in Young Harris, Georgia. He graduated from Union County High School in 2006 and enlisted in the Army as a 19D. CPT Cook graduated from Basic Training at Fort Knox, Kentucky in the summer of 2007. Following Basic Training he was assigned to Bulldog Troop, 1st Squadron, 40th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade, 25th Infantry Division.

                CPT Cook deployed to Afghanistan in 2009 and returned to Fort Richardson, Alaska in 2010. During his time as an enlisted Soldier he served as a driver, .50 CAL gunner and dismounted SAW gunner. After his enlistment, CPT Cook attended Young Harris College. He earned a B.S. in Biology and graduated in 2015. From 2014 until 2016, he worked as a Strength and Conditioning coach at Shotgun Alley Powerhouse and Union County High School.

                In 2016 CPT Cook commissioned as a 19A – Armor Officer out of OCS at Fort Benning, Georgia. Following ABOLC, he reported to Fort Lewis, Washington. CPT Cook served as a Platoon Leader on Strykers and then on the MGS (Mobil Gun System) in 8th Squadron, 1st Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division. After graduating from MCCC (Maneuver Captain Career Course) CPT reported to 1SFAB at Fort Benning, Georgia. While there he served as a Troop Executive Officer for Brave Troop. He then Commanded the Headquarters Troop for 3rd Squadron, 1st SFAB.

                Following SFAB, CPT Cook took Command of Blackfoot Troop, 5th Squadron, 7th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division. During this Commander, CPT Cook lead his Troop through a JMRC rotation while acting for the Army’s Quick Reaction Force in response to Russian aggression. CPT Cook then Commanded Headquarters Company for 2nd Battalion, 7th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division. CPT Cook reported to The University of Akron in April of 2024.
