Donald M. Jenkins, BA ’49, JD ’64, retired professor and former dean of the School of Law at The University of Akron, was honored November 15 by Post 349 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars for his distinguished military career. A retired two-star general, Jenkins is a highly decorated U.S. Air Force World War II and Korean War fighter pilot who, among numerous military assignments, served as post commander of the Rickenbacher Air Force Base.
James D. Feiszli, MM ’81, director of music at the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology, has been named 2013 U.S. Professor of the Year for the state of South Dakota by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education. Feiszli accepted his award at a luncheon in Washington, D.C., on November 14. PHOTO
Sandra K. Naragon, AAB ’88, BA ’96, was named CEO of the Akron Cleveland Association of Realtors in November 2013, the group resulting from a merger between the Cleveland Area Board of Realtors and Akron Area Board of Realtors.
James F. Troike, BS ’85, a Seville, Ohio, resident, was selected by the Stark County commissioners in November 2013 as the new Stark County sanitary engineer.
Joseph D. DiRocco, BS ’93, an executive with more than 20 years of commercial banking experience in Ohio, joined Charter One and RBS Citizens as president in October 2013. DiRocco also serves on the board of the Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana chapter of Make-A-Wish. PHOTO
Debra J. McDonald, BSED ’94, received the 2014 Ohio Teacher of the Year Award in November 2014 from Richard Ross, state superintendent, and Debe Terhar, state school board president. McDonald is an early childhood education instructor at Wayne County Career Center.
Christopher H. Neidert, BSBA ’90, was promoted to operations manager for the agricultural and forestry tires business unit of Trelleborg Wheel Systems Americas in June 2013.
Emily C. Richards, BS ’10, a senior associate at SS&G’s Akron office, recently became a member of The University of Akron George W. Daverio School of Accountancy Junior Advisory Board.
