ENGINEERING CAMP
Grades: 9-12
Cost: $350
Date: June 3-7
Registration: opens late March
- Only 25 spots are available, allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Summer Experience in Engineering Camp has just about everything for high school students interested in learning more about aerospace systems, biomedical, chemical, civil, computer, corrosion, electrical and mechanical engineering.
The camp is is hosted by the Women in Engineering (WIE) Program in The College of Engineering and Polymer Science. From tours to local engineering firms to hands-on projects, along with social activities, WIE provides the ideal environment for campers to embark on engineering studies and make new friends.

MAKE IT AT MYERS ART CAMP
Grades: 11-12

Make it at Myers is a FREE week-long in-person experience for rising junior and senior high school art students. Students will get to experience many disciplines and work directly with Myers faculty and staff to create a personal narrative while discovering all that our art and design school has to offer.
Several field trips to area museums and galleries will also be included. Participants’ final work will be shown in an exhibition in Folk Hall on the final day. Family and friends are welcome to attend the exhibition.

MUSIC CAMP
Grades: 9-12
Cost: $250 day-only or $500 overnight

The School of Music hosts students of all skill levels (instruments and voice types) will experience a week of working with our renowned faculty during private lessons, chamber ensemble rehearsals, large group ensemble rehearsals, and captivating music classes.
Day campers will attend from morning sessions to final evening event of the camp day with lunch included. Overnight campers will experience dorm life and evening campus activities as well as all meals provided.

ARTS CAMP: MUSIC, VISUAL ARTS, THEATRE, DANCE
Ages: 6-12
Cost: $300 per session ($25 registration fee)

Dance, visual art, drama and music all in one camp! Students will spend their time exploring movement and dance with our staff at The Dance Institute and the University of Akron’s School of Dance. Next, they will head to art class with the Mary Schiller Myers School of Art and the staff of the Art Institute. Then, they'll join our friends at Rubber City Theatre as they learn what it takes to be an actor. Finally, the Music Institute and the University of Akron’s School of Music will explore music with your young musicians.
You can choose to attend just one session or come to both. Each week will feature a special campus experience like attending a ballet, getting a backstage tour of E.J. Thomas Hall, or visiting the Emily Davis Gallery!

ENGINEERING - MAKING AND TESTING SOLID STATE BATTERIES
Grades: 9-11
Cost: Free, but limited to 6 students

Interested in futuristic research related to batteries, material research, and 3D printing?
Learn about the basics of batteries and how to make and test solid state batteries in a lab environment. Lunch and personal protection equipment (safety goggles, gloves and masks) will be provided.

COLLEGE OF BUSINESS ASPIRE CAMP
For students entering grades 9-12

The College of Business at The University of Akron is excited to be offering a summer program for high school students interested in learning about business. This interactive and immersive opportunity allows participants to explore the dynamic world of business. Participants will gain practical knowledge, leadership skills, and the confidence to navigate real-world business challenges.
Students will leave ASPIRE with a certificate of completion, enhanced leadership and communication skills, and exclusive invitations to future UA College of Business events. Additionally, members of the winning team will be awarded scholarships to the University of Akron.

INFLUENCER BOOT CAMP

The School of Communication offers this one-of-a-kind camp where faculty will teach high school students how to develop the skills needed to become a content creator or influencer. Students will get to use our multiple production facilities, work with award-winning faculty and experience much of what the University of Akron and the city have to offer with field trips and activities to provide many opportunities for creating content.

The School of School of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences offers three tiers of camps by age. All camp activities and programs have a focus on developing a healthy lifestyle in a positive sport and recreational environment.
The Youth Sport Camp (ages 5-12) teaches basic sport skills and rules by coaches in a positive environment while encouraging individual development.

The Junior Counselor (JUCO) Leadership (ages 15-18) & JUCO-in-Training (ages 13-14) will learn about leadership fundamentals while working with children in the sport and recreation environment.

Zips esports hosts three week-long camps, offering both day-only and overnight options for campers at any skill level. Our summer camp is open to middle and high school aged children (12-17 years old).
