Behavioral Health Expansion Program

Flexible Online Courses. Customized Learning. Expert Faculty.

The University of Akron’s Social Work program received a grant from the Ohio Department of Higher Education (ODHE) to offer up to 9 credits of tuition-free online college-credit to the staff of community behavioral health agencies in rural communities throughout Ohio. All the courses offered are online and in an asynchronous format, thus allowing the staff members to complete the courses without interruption to their current employment and work schedules at community behavioral health centers. Because the courses are online, eligible behavioral health employees from anywhere in the state can register for these courses.
