Project Overview
The University of Akron Project Management Office is looking to improve its Project and Portfolio Management process with the goal of gaining greater compliance to the process. The PMO is looking to simply the process so that it is clear what is expected of those wanting to complete project work. In this initiative the PMO is creating a new Project Management Framework as well as new project artifacts to aid in the management of projects.
Along with the redesign of the Project Management Framework and Project Artifacts the PMO is investigating Project and Portfolio Management tools to aid the monitoring and tracking of project work and resources.
Current Status
Request for Proposal (RFP)
The PMO released an RFP to get proposals on tools associated with Project and Portfolio Management. The PMO received responses from the following vendors:
- AtTask
- Daptiv
- Innotas
- MultiPro
- Oracle
- ProSymmetry
- TeamDynamix
The PMO is currently reviewing the responses for further evaluation.
Framework and Artifact Redesign
The Project Management Framework and Projects Artifacts are under being reviewed and analyzed to ensure that the appropriate information is being capture by the documents to help the project be a success.
