Hi, everyone. The University of Akron cares deeply about our community and supports it in many ways.

Our faculty, staff, and students take part in programs that elevate our neighbors and celebrate civic engagement.

I’m excited to share with all of you some details about UA’s participation in the 2025 United Way of Summit and Medina campaign.

In the coming days, you will receive pertinent information about United Way’s services and avenues for your personal involvement.

This season’s campaign runs from March 4th through March 22nd.

As you contemplate how you may be able to help this year, I wanted to take just a moment to share with you the many ways your gift may be used.

The United Way of Summit and Medina offers direct services in support of our community.

Through housing programs, health access, financial empowerment, educational assistance, and much more, United Way lends a hand in the areas that matter most.

Our local organization serves as a conduit to community-based and accessibility programming.

A stronger Akron area means a stronger University of Akron, and vice versa.

Together with our partners at the United Way, we have set a pragmatic goal of fifty-five thousand dollars for our UA campus donations.

Participation in the 2025 United Way campaign is completely voluntary, so I encourage you to check out the materials you’ll receive in the coming days.

If you feel you can donate and support this cause, I thank you for helping us reach our campaign goals.

If you’re unable to add monetary support, I still encourage you to learn about the great work of the United Way of Summit and Medina.

Our “Go Zips” spirit extends beyond the perimeter of our campus.

Thanks to our local United Way, there is an organization dedicated to helping us uplift our community and support other initiatives from afar.
