Dr. Maria Andersen
Westminster College
Dr. Maria Andersen has spent most of her career teaching at the college level and developing digital products for learning. For ten years she taught chemistry and mathematics full-time at Muskegon Community College and now she teaches Math and Education courses for Westminster College in Salt Lake City. Dr. Andersen has a B.S. in Chemistry, a B.A. in Biology, an M.S. in Mathematics, an MBA, and Ph.D. in Higher Education Leadership.
Maria stepped out of full-time academia in 2012 to embrace online learning and the underlying technology. She has built iPad games to teach algebra, launched the Canvas Network Massive Open Online Course platform, designed adaptive learning platforms for STEM used by McGraw Hill, and worked as the Director of Learning Design for WGU (a fully-online CBE institution). Currently Maria is the CEO and Cofounder of Coursetune, a software platform that helps educational institutions to design and manage their curriculum.
Jasmine Roberts
The Ohio State University
Jasmine Roberts is an educator, speaker, writer and strategic communication professional. She earned her bachelor's degree in communication studies and Spanish at the University of Michigan and her master's degree in communication at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
She joined the School of Communication at The Ohio State University in 2012, where she teaches upper level undergraduate courses in the areas of communication campaigns and strategic communication writing.
In conjunction with her communication expertise, Roberts is also an open education leader and advocate. She strives to ensure universities and colleges nationwide implement accessible and affordable learning practices. She is the author of "Writing of Strategic Communication Industries," a free, openly-licensed textbook and writing guide. She is also a member of the Midwestern Higher Education Compact.
