Veteran TV news anchor and legal reporter Julie Grant, Akron Law class of 2009, will join the on-air team at the new Court TV, which is being relaunched Katz Networks, part of The E.W. Scripps Company.
Grant is currently legal editor, anchor and reporter at KDKA-TV, the CBS owned-and-operated station in Pittsburgh. She has also taught at Temple University's James E. Beasley School of Law. Prior to joining KDKA, she was an anchor for three years at the Fox affiliate in Winston-Salem, N.C. Before that, she served as Assistant District Attorney of Allegheny County (Pittsburgh) from 2009-2013. Grant has a Master of Laws with Honors and in Trial Advocacy from Temple and a law degree from The University of Akron School of Law.
The new Court TV announced the addition of Grant and four other seasoned journalists to its growing on-air news team as it builds to its launch in May as a digital broadcast network. For nearly two decades beginning in 1991, Court TV brought high-profile courtroom dramas into American living rooms. The new Court TV will be devoted to live, gavel-to-gavel coverage, in-depth legal reporting and expert analysis of the nation's most important and compelling trials. The network will run 24 hours a day, seven days a week and will be carried on cable, satellite, over-the-air and over-the-top.
