Tracy Thomas, Dir. of the Constitutional Law Center, writes in the area of women and the law, covering a broad array of topics including women’s legal history, abortion, same-sex marriage (and divorce), among others.

Carolyn Dessin's proposal for a panel on guardianship was accepted for presentation at the annual meeting of the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law in October.
Tracy Thomas was awarded the 2015 Faculty Scholarly Publication Award by the Akron Alumni Association for her publication Back to the Future of Abortion Regulation in the First Term, 29 Wisconsin J. of Law, Gender & Society 47 (2014).
Alan Newman presented his work-in-progress, Trust Law in the Twenty-First Century: Fiduciary Accountability in Decline, at Ohio State University’s Moritz College of Law.
Alan Newman presented “The Ohio Trust Code: Recent Case Law Developments” to the Akron Bar Association Probate Law Section.

ABOUT FAMILY LAW SCHOLARSHIP
Legal Scholarship on Family Law can be broadly defined due to the myriad legal implications of family relationships. Faculty at Akron Law write on topics such as elder law, guardianship, trusts & estates, gender and the law, women's legal history, same-sex marriage (and same-sex divorce), and the regulation of abortion.
