Pursuing doctorate in physical therapy at The Ohio State University
After graduating high school, Isaac had no idea of the career he wanted to pursue. Since he enjoyed science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) courses, he decided to study mechanical engineering to allow for flexibility and options for his future career choices. Now he is pursuing his doctorate in physical therapy at The Ohio State University with valuable skills and experiences gained from his engineering degree.
“Mechanical engineering at The University of Akron allowed me to explore many different career opportunities while pursuing a degree that is challenging and marketable. When I decided that I wanted to become a physical therapist, my background was unique and allowed me to stand out in the graduate school application process. In addition, an engineering degree provides many skills that will be valuable in my career: problem-solving, leadership skills, teamwork opportunities, and an understanding of engineering principles and ideologies.”
