What to leave at home

Hey we get it, there are just some things you need, but trust us you won't need these at The University of Akron. For your own safety, we ask that you leave the following at home.

• Any lamp with halogen bulbs
• Any pet that is NOT a fish
• Candles/incense
• Fireworks
• Electrical devices with and exposed heating coil
• Indoor grills (George Foreman types)
• Lava lamps
• Nails for hanging items (please use sticky-tac or 3-M removable hooks instead)
• Space heaters
• Window air conditioning units
• Toaster ovens, hot pots and plates
• Toy guns (i.e. BB or Airsoft)
• Weapons (real or fake that look real)
• Wireless access points (e.g., Apple AirPort Base Stations, Linksys Access Points, or Gateways)
• Routers (e.g. cable/DSL routers)
• Any device or computer running network server services such as DHCP, DNS, SMTP, WINS or acting as network router
• Wall-mounted appliances (including but not limited to TVs, microwaves, fans, light fixtures, etc.)
• Hoverboards, Swagways, IO Hawks, Skywalkers and similar devices
• Waterbeds and other containers that hold more than 20 gallons of liquid
• Pools (seriously, we've seen it tried before)
