Residence Hall Rates & Tuition Guarantee

The University’s Tuition Guarantee Program provides students and families with predictable costs throughout their time at UA. Housing rates listed below align with this program and are designed to support transparent, longterm financial planning.

All residence hall rates shown are per semester (Fall or Spring).

To determine the annual housing cost for the academic year, simply multiply the listed rate by two.

Additional Housing Charges

Winter Break Housing:

Students approved to remain on campus during Winter Break are charged a flat rate of $500 for the entire break.

Early Arrival / Late Stay:

Students approved to arrive early or stay beyond the standard semester dates are charged $40 per night.

About our residence halls

For many, an important part of college life is living on campus in a residence hall. It provides once-in-a-lifetime opportunities for friendships and activities. At UA, only a portion of the student body lives on campus, giving our resident students a taste of a small-college atmosphere.

We want your room to be a place where you feel at home, so each one is planned and furnished with that in mind. We have coed residence halls; double rooms and suites and high rises. There are even on-campus apartments. Although we can't guarantee students get their first choice in room locations, we certainly try our best to accommodate their wishes.

Room Type Definitions

Double
Two (2) students share a bedroom.
Double Suite
Two (2) students share a bedroom, and they share a living room with another double room.
Single
One (1) student in a bedroom.
Shared Single
Two (2) students each have their own bedroom and they share a small common area and a bathroom (Honors Shared Singles do not have a common space, just a shared bathroom).
Apartment
Two (2) or Four (4) students each have their own bedroom and they share a living room, kitchen, washer/dryer, and bathroom(s).

Bathroom Type Definitions

Community
A bathroom on the floor with toilet stalls, a bank of sinks, and shower stalls shared by everyone on the floor.
Pod
The floor has a shared bank of sinks, but also has several one (1) occupant lockable bathrooms (toilet, shower, sink) that are shared by the floor.
In-Unit
A full bathroom is included in the unit or room and only shared by the occupants of that unit or room.
