Shopping may not be right downtown, but there is plenty of shopping in and around the Akron area such as Summit Mall. Nearby Highland Square offers unique shops of vintage clothing and antiques. If you are willing to travel a bit farther, there are also a few up-scale shopping centers in the area within a 30- to 45-minute drive including Beachwood PlaceLegacy Village, and Crocker Park.  

There is always something exciting happening in Akron, Ohio. In the summer, enjoy The Akron Marathon, the Bridgestone Invitational Golf Tournament, an Akron Rubberducks game (Akron’s minor league baseball team), and Summer Concerts. In the winter, enjoy First Night Akron, Holiday Concerts, and Ice Skating at Lock 3 Park. Year long, enjoy events at the many attractions including the Akron Civic Theatre, the Akron Art Museum, the John S. Knight Center, Canal Park Stadium, the Akron Zoo, the Akron-Summit County Public Library, E.J. Thomas HallStan Hywet Hall & GardensBlossom Music Center, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Cleveland Zoo.
