Our goal at OHECC is to foster communication among our peers in Higher Education. This annual conference is that opportunity for members of the IT community to gather and share information, ideas, and tips for the betterment of each of our institutions.

The 2024 OHECC conference is hosted by The University of Akron and will take place at Jean Hower Taber Student Union, Akron, Ohio, on May 22-24, 2024.

Proposals for presentation topics for the May conference will be accepted through March 15, 2024. Submitted proposals will be evaluated and notifications will be made regarding proposals in early April.

Conference Tracks

This year we are trying something different, instead of building the tracks and asking everyone to submit a proposal within those areas, we want you to submit your proposals and we will build the tracks based on the submissions.

We are trying this format based on the feedback from last year's conference. Some people didn't submit a proposal because they felt it didn't fit a specific track.

Session Formats

Standard Presentation Session (1-2 people)

A focused, interactive session is encouraged with clear objectives and learning outcomes for the audience.

Standard Presentation Session with Vendor (1-3 people)

Similar to the standard presentation but will include speakers from a college/university and a vendor discussing work on which they have collaborated. Note that the college/university must actually submit the proposal and submissions with the vendor listed as the lead presenter or the proposal will not be accepted.

Panel Session (3 people)

Rather than a series of short, individual presentations, panel sessions should be genuinely interactive among the panelists, and also between the panelists and the audience. The panelists can develop different perspectives or discuss various aspects of the topic.

Roundtable Sessions

Roundtable discussions will be moderated on predetermined topics.
