Parent and Family Orientation - Frequently Asked Questions

Parents or family members are not required to attend orientation, only the student is. However, we have specifically designed parent and family sessions to take part in if you choose to accompany your student during their orientation.

Registration is not required. Simply attend with your student the day of and you will be checked in with your student.

Your attendance is not required and you are not committed to attending the whole program. At check in, you'll receive a schedule of the day with times and locations of each session, and you are free to come and go as you please. 

Students receive expanded campus safety information later on during their New Roo onboarding experience. Because campus safety ties in to several other important areas, it is presented during the Know the Code workshops. These workshops aim to educate and empower students with the knowledge they need to be safe and responsible during their time. Completion of the Know the Code workshop is required of all incoming freshmen.
