The Akron Rises Program provides wrap-around support for UA students; especially during the difficult transition from high school to college. Our individual coordinators will work with you in areas of academics, life-coaching, career exploration, registration procedures, and more!
AKRON RISES BENEFITS
Personal Akron Rises Coordinator
Your assigned Retention Coordinator will serve as a member of your support team here to help you with academics, social skills, and life coaching.
Individual Success Plan
You’ll work together with your Akron Rises Coordinator to create a success plan personalized to your life and goals.
Learning Communities
Students taking two to four classes together will connect in groups to create a learning community. This helps you develop deeper connections to your peers and UA for a richer college experience.
Academic Skill Building Workshops
You'll have access to workshops that cover high-need topics including study skills, time management, finances, access to campus resources, and more.
Invitations to Special Events and Programs
Akron Rises hosts several events through the academic year for our students connect out of the classroom.
Support in obtaining scholarships
UA offers scholarships to continuing students, as Akron Rises participants we will provide you help with finding and applying for these awards.
