English Department Annual Student Awards Reception:
April 24, 2020, 9:30AM-11:30PM in the Student Union, Room 312
The English Department is honored to announce a new scholarship for English majors! The Dr. Kenneth J. Pakenham Memorial Endowed Scholarship is open to students majoring in English, with first consideration given to those pursuing a certificate in Linguistic Studies or Teaching English as a Second Language. Don't miss your opportunity to be the first recipient of this generous scholarship!
Last year, 45 awards and scholarships were awarded to our English undergraduate and graduate students totaling over $17,000 dollars. The deadline for applications for this year's scholarships is Friday, March 6, 2020! Apply!
Generally, students who receive scholarships should have full-time enrollment.
Most scholarships are granted on an annual basis prior to the fall semester.
Although most scholarships do not require students to complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), for full consideration for all types of aid you should complete a FAFSA form no later than March 1.
You may also wish to contact your college and/or academic department for possible scholarship opportunities and application requirements.
Graduate students are encouraged to apply for assistantships. Positions are available as teaching assistants in the English Department.
