Seating chart
The seating arrangement at EJ is capable of changing, depending on the event. Please check the Ticketmaster seating chart for the specific event you are interested in. See a sample map

Ticket sales are final
All ticket sales are final. Refunds, exchanges or retroactive discounts are not possible.

Weather
As long as the entertainer is in the facility, performances are not canceled and refunds are not provided due to weather conditions.

Smoke Free
E. J. Thomas Hall and The University of Akron campus is a smoke and tobacco-free area. See details.

Entry
Entry to the inner lobby begins one hour before the performance. Seating typically begins 30 minutes before the show.

Cameras, Recording Equipment, Cellular Phones and Pagers
These devices are prohibited. You may take the devices back to your car, or check them with the Head Usher at the information counter.

Seating Latecomers
Please note the curtain time printed on your tickets, as performances begin promptly. In consideration of others, latecomers will be seated at a suitable pause in the program. This includes patrons who leave the auditorium before or during a selection. Patrons will be re-seated after the completion of that selection.

Intermission
Intermissions are 20 minutes in length. The flashing of the lobby lights is your signal to return to your seat for the start of the performance. Latecomers will be seated at proper intervals.

Concert Conclusion
Members of the audience who wish to leave before the conclusion of the performance are asked to do so only between selections as not to disturb others.

Tickets for children
All patrons, including children of all ages who may even share a seat, must have a ticket to comply with fire regulations.

Parking

For Broadway in Akron series show nights only, the E.J. Thomas Parking deck is now exclusively reserved for Flying Balcony Club members and accessibility placard vehicles. Please be prepared to show your Flying Balcony Club pass or accessibility placard to the University Police and parking attendants. Otherwise, University Police will direct vehicles to the nearest open lots and spaces. 

For all other shows, spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis in the Thomas Hall parking deck and Lot #26 - North Campus deck and surface lot #27.

There is a charge for campus event parking. 

Information for Mobility Impaired Patrons

Accessible Seating

E.J. Thomas Hall has limited, designated seating areas on the Orchestra and Grand Tier levels for patrons in wheelchairs or patrons with special needs. Adjacent seating for a companion is also available in both areas. To make reservations, call the Ticket Office at 330-972-7570.

Handicapped Parking

There are a limited number of handicap parking spaces available on a first-come, first-served basis in the E.J. Thomas Hall parking deck and Lot # 26 and 27. There is a charge for parking and a valid permit must be displayed.

Accessible Restrooms
Located at the bottom of both ramps on both sides of the building.

Services

Information Counter
The Information Counter is located in McCormick Lobby, which is adjacent to the Ticket Office. The counter is manned by an attendant, who is available to assist you with your questions and concerns.

Assistive Listening System
A special sound system for the hearing impaired, Williams Personal PA Receiver is available at the information counter in McCormick Lobby, free of charge.

Lost and Found
The information counter serves as our lost and found department during events. If you discover that you are missing something the day following a performance, please call our Executive Offices at (330) 972-7595 and make a report.

Food and Beverage Service
A full-service bar and concession stand are located in the building’s center lobby, Robertson Lobby. The Concession Stand offers soft drinks, bottled water, coffee, beer, wine, snacks and candy before the performance and at intermission.

For most events, bottled water and drinks are permitted in the auditorium. Food may be consumed in the lobby areas or in the EJCafé.

Event Postponement and Cancellation
On very rare occasions severe weather forces E.J. Thomas Hall to postpone or cancel an event. Should a postponement or cancellation occur, details will be shared first on the uaevents.com homepage, regional radio and television (see stations), the E.J. Thomas Facebook and Twitter accounts, and via email. Additional information can be obtained by leaving your name and phone number with the Hall at 330-972-7595. A Thomas Hall staff member will contact you as soon as possible.
