Biography

Leah Michalos is theatrical producer, general manager, and consultant in the non-profit and commercial sectors with a commitment to artist mentorship, diversity and outreach. As the founder of Michalos Management LLC, an arts and entertainment management and consulting firm, she specializes in fundraising and financial management, strategic planning, marketing and publicity, nonprofit governance, and program development. Leah’s clients and projects range from theater and opera, to orchestras and dance companies, to art galleries and special events and everything in between.

 

Recent lead producing credits include The Orchard/The Orchard, featuring Mikhail Baryshnikov and Jessica Hecht and Broadway’s Chicken & Biscuits at Circle in the Square. Off-Broadway: The Lucky Star, Renee Taylor’s My Life on a Diet (Lucille Lortel and Outer Critics Circle nom.) In The Pocket, Terms of Endearment with Molly Ringwald, Butler, A Better Place, The Road to Damascus, On A Stool at the End of the Bar (GLAAD Nominee), Almost Home, Jericho, Murder in the First, Poetic License, The Best of Everything. Additionally, Leah is the Producing/Managing Director of The Directors Company, an award-winning, New York based theatre company with a 40-year history of supporting artists in the development of their work from inception to production. She has led educational arts organizations, including: S.T.A.R. Theater for Social Change, an award-winning, nationally recognized, evidence-based, multi-session peer education program, that uses theater and music to educate youth on the issues the affect them the most;  O’Neill at Yale/Playwrights Theatre of New York, which was a community building project between professional playwrights and New Haven public schools students; and fzine, a youth arts organization that was part of a collaboration with the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and Chicago Public Schools. Leah has also produced The GABBY Awards for The Greek America Foundation at Carnegie Hall, El Capitan (LA) and Ellis Island.
