Wet Chemistry

1. Lab Description and Capabilities

  • Chemical and electrochemical tests of a wide variety of materials in aqueous environments
  • Induced changes produced by chemical and electrochemical reactions are recorded and analyzed
  • Supports basic and advanced research on materials performance by carrying out electrochemical tests related to corrosion, batteries, energy storage and generation, sensors, microelectronics, semiconductors, and passive films

2. Deliverables

  • Corrosion processes, energy storage and generation, sensors development, semiconductors and micro‐electronics amongst other processes
  • Allows electrochemical processes to be performed rapidly over a range of environmental conditions and provide insight into the nature of the electrochemical process for revealing the origin and development of heterogeneous interfaces
  • Develop new generation of materials that suffer less corrosion, provide more energy, las longer, and even look better

3. Major Equipment and Specific Minor Equipment, Lab Uniqueness

  • Modulab XM Potentiostat
  • Gamry Reference 600 Potentiostat
  • BioLogic SP200 Potentiostat
  • BioLogic VSP300 Potentiostat
  • Pine Rotating Electrodes
