The minor in French provides a formidable enhancement to any undergraduate major. Students develop their cross-cultural competence and awareness, as well as developing proficiency in all four skills (speaking, reading, writing, and listening). This enables effective and culturally appropriate communication in many informal and formal (professional) settings.

The French minor requires 18 credits.

The completion of Intermediate French I [FREN 201] and Intermediate French II [FREN 202] will award six (6) of the 18 credits. After that, students will need twelve (12) credits of upper-level courses, these are courses that are the 300-level or higher.
