Learning Outcomes for 3450:427/527 Applied Numerical Methods I 

Students are expected to be able to

• Understand and apply the basic concepts related to solving problems numerically and the basic numerical methods related to root finding, polynomial interpolation, solving linear system of equations, and numerical integration.
• Write computer code to solve problems numerically.
• Choose appropriate algorithms to solve various computational problems from science and engineering and interpret the results.
