About the Play

Join The University of Akron's "Creating Innovation" students in a whirlwind play. Directed by Lysander Mills and produced by instructor Dane CT Leasure, mix a Hitchcock masterpiece with a juicy spy novel, add a dash of Monty Python and you have the intriguing, thrilling, riotous and unmissable comedy. The show hurtles a notorious fugitive and a spellbound blonde from a London music hall north by northwest to Scotland’s most remote highlands. Will they save Britain from a den of devious spies? A cast of five actors plays over 150 characters in this fast-paced tale of an ordinary man on an extraordinarily entertaining adventure.

Biography

Lysander Mills  is a Senior Theatre Arts Major, Dance Minor from Lancaster, Ohio who was previously seen as the title character in The Resistable Rise of Arturo Ui, Peck in How I Learned to Drive, Conrad in Stupid Fucking Bird, Vaska Pepel in The Lower Depths, Bernard in The Waves,  King Edward in Richard III,  Piero in Big Love, and Mr. Fitzpatrick in Skin of Our Teeth.  You might also have seen Lysander in A Christmas Carol at Rubber City Theatre as Bob Cratchit in 2019 and an Understudy in 2020, A Winter's Tale at Rubber City Theatre as Florizel, and in Through His Eye at QuTheatre as an ensemble member.

Biography

 Dane CT Leasure is the founder and Executive Artistic Director of Rubber City Theatre. Primarily a director, Dane has directed productions ranging from A Midsummer Night's Dream to Pippin. In recent years, Dane has turned to new works, particularly musicals in development. Dane has taught K-12 after school programming and at the college level teaching acting, movement, and stage combat. Dane is a proud member of Society of Stage Directors and Choreographers (SDC).
