On Friday October 27, students and faculty from the College of Applied Science and Technology's Emergency Management and Homeland Security Program visited the State of Ohio Emergency Management Agency (OEMA) outside of Columbus, Ohio.
The Agency’s Executive Director and Deputy Director welcomed the students and three of the Agency’s senior officials--graduates of the University of Akron’s Emergency Management and Homeland Security Program--briefed the students and faculty on Ohio’s EMA, its structure, and recent operations. The officials also shared their career experiences and provided advice on what it takes to excel in the emergency management and homeland security field.
The visit enabled students to see how their studies in emergency management and homeland security can result in formidable career opportunities.
