Veterinary assisting course offered at UA

A veterinary assisting course designed to prepare students for entry-level positions in the field of animal care is being offered by The University of Akron’s Workforce Development and Continuing Education Division.

The 10-week course, which begins Feb. 11, provides students a blend of lectures and clinical training. Classes will be held Thursday evenings from 6-9 p.m. at the VCA Green Animal Medical Center in Uniontown. Clinical experience will be scheduled at Turkeyfoot Family Pet Center, Stow-Kent Animal Hospital and One of a Kind Pet Spay and Neuter Clinic. The course fee is $699. A required textbook can be purchased separately for about $45.
