An evening of Chinese folk dancing and music is planned by the Ethnic Art Ensemble from Guizhou University in the People’s Republic of China at the Akron Civic Theatre, 182 South Main St., on Friday, Nov. 20. A preshow in the lobby is at 6:30 p.m. and the performance is at 7:30 p.m.
The event is free to University of Akron students, faculty and staff with a Zip Card, as well as children under the age of 18. It is sponsored by UA’s Confucius Institute and Akron International Friendship.
Akron will be the last stop on this tour of the United States for the internationally award-winning ensemble. The group also has performed in Russia, Ukraine, France and South Korea, and at the opening ceremonies of the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China.
